Research

The Department of Medical Humanities and Ethics is home to a productive multi-dimensional research program. Federally-funded, foundation-supported, and philanthropy-partnered research programs examine the ethical, legal, and social implications of genomic and precision medicine; outcomes of narrative training for clinicians; legal and economic forces influencing medical practices; and the roles of humanities and the arts in the development of the clinician. Collaborative by nature, Department research faculty partner with scientists and humanists on the CUIMC, Morningside, and Manhattanville campuses as well as with colleagues worldwide.
